During the first day of Google IO, Google announced that it’s launching the Google Assistant on iOS.
The assistant is available on iOS (USA only for now) as an application that will be able to perform certain tasks, as it does on Android, but with some exceptions to certain OS functions. That means you will be able to make calls, send messages, and play songs, but not set any alarms.
Users have to open the Google Assistant app to activate it, as the home button can not be remapped. Users can also add a widget to make the launching of the Google Assistant faster and easier.
