It’s great that the new iPhones come with fast charging, but Apple has decided not to include a fast charging brick in the box. Customers that are looking to fast charge their iPhones will have to buy a new $50 charger that supports fast charging from Apple.
The standard charger that is included in the box (4.85V/0.95A) will fully charge the iPhone X in about 3.5 hours (the same goes for the iPhone 8 Plus). You can charge the iPhone using an iPad charger (24W), which will charge your phone 30 minutes to an hour faster. On the other hand, Apple’s $50 USB-C 29W charger will be able to charge the iPhone X from 0 to 50% in about 30 minutes!
At a first glance, many might be hesitant to consider buying the fast charger, but in my opinion, that should be the second thing you invest in (after a protective case), if you’re buying the new iPhone X. Let’s be honest, who wants to wait 3.5 hours for a phone to fully charge?
The charger should come with the phone with the price you’re paying for it, don’t you think?

Of course it should. Just like all companies include their fast chargers in the box. But I’m not surprised by Apple doing this.
